What is personal assistance under LSS?
Personal assistance is a form of support under the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS), and is intended for people with extensive and permanent functional impairments. It is about enabling you to live a free life - your way. At OC, we help you get the right support - and keep it.

What should an application for personal assistance contain?
In order for your application to have a good chance of being granted, it needs to be carefully prepared. A complete application should include:
- Completed application form from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency or the municipality - or an ordinary letter clearly stating that personal assistance/assistance allowance is being sought.
- Medical examination/certificate - e.g. medical certificate and ADL assessment by occupational therapist.
- Description of the need for help - how long different activities take and why you need help
- Self-care certificate - if there are medical assistance needs such as tube feeding.
We help you compile the right documentation - and can also represent you in dealings with the authorities.
